The Museum is a project that satirizes the bureaucratic structures of institutional museums to highlight the ridicules of the interactions within them. It examines the hierarchical systems and how they interact with their audiences through video works. Additionally, The Museum focuses on the figure of The Museum's Unpaid Intern and the many administrative documents they have to design to explore ideas of authorized existence, alienation, and personalized aspects of bureaucracy
As The Museum’s first guest curator, I created The Kitchen Cabinet Show, an exhibition of a small-scale works based on the Desktop Museum. The participating artists: Christina Ballentyne, Mia Morettini, Bronwyn Kuehler, María Burundarena, and Jeffrey Yard, adopted alter-egos for the exhibition. In addition, to complement The Museum’s voice, the press release and the curatorial text were written in International Art English.
